About
Camp For All works closely with 64 non-profit organizations. Camp For All provides the barrier-free camp, professional staff, universal programming and activities, and food that meets dietary needs of campers and staff, while the other organizations bring “in-cabin” counselors and their own staff of medical professionals and volunteers.
The idea of this organization originated in 1993 when two Houston physicians teamed up with a parent who lost a child to cancer. They wanted to make a unique place for those with limited opportunities to experience camp due to an illness or disability. With the feedback and help of the 64 other non-profit organizations, the barrier-free camp officially opened in 1998. Camp For All now hosts approximately 11,000 children and adults year-round and has served over 140,000 campers throughout the years.
